Your information

Privacy policy

The records weekendhustle.net keeps, the cookies advertisers may set, and how to say no to personalized ads.

This policy applies to weekendhustle.net. The short of it is that Weekend Hustle asks nothing of you: there is nowhere to sign in, nothing to subscribe to and no comment section.

Records kept by the server

When your browser requests a page, our server notes it in an access log: the network address the request came from (your IP address), the browser that sent it, the page asked for and the moment it was asked. We read these records only to keep the site secure and to find faults, and older entries are cleared away as time goes on.

Advertising

Some pages may carry advertising supplied by other companies, Google among them. Three things are worth knowing.

  1. Those companies, Google included, place cookies in your browser so that the ads you see can reflect websites you have visited before, this one and others.
  2. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and the companies it works with to choose ads for you from your visits here, elsewhere online, or both.
  3. You can stop personalized ads from Google in its Ads Settings, and the Digital Advertising Alliance’s choices page lets you decline them from many other ad companies too.

Google describes its own practices in a note on how it treats data from partner sites.

A few articles link to companies that pay a referral fee. Following such a link may lead that company to set a cookie of its own, and on its website its own privacy policy governs what happens next.

Young readers

Weekend Hustle is written for working adults and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly gather information from anyone that age.

Revisions

Should we ever add visitor analytics, a mailing list or another service that gathers information, this policy will be revised to describe it.
